Your YouTube Rights

You should have YouTube rights!

It is vital for A level students, in particular media studies students, to have access to YouTube for research and development purposes. We frequently need to use the site to check out videos recommended to us by our teachers, and to research other videos to enhance our own learning experience and grades. 'A' level is all about independent study, but our study resources are being severely limited.

Many students can access YouTube on their own computers at home, but this doesn't apply to everybody. A very small percentage of students do not have the facilities to view YouTube videos at home. It seems unfair that their learning tools are more limited than those of other students. Though it is not the fault of the schools, these students are missing out on opportunities which are vital if they are to gain the most from their further education.

Our Internet access is already monitored, and those abusing their privileges have them taken away, so why can't we have the same system for YouTube usage?

If you are an A level student, use the poll or leave us a comment with your name and help us to petition The King's School to allow 6th Form media students YouTube rights!

We will keep you updated through posts on this blog - so pop back if you would like an update, or more info, or just to feed the fish! =]
